We are pleased to announce that the FreeNation Foundation has been relaunched and with a new purpose.

We originally started as an organization seeking to found a new nation at the same time that The Pirate Bay’s BuySealand project was going on. As a community we developed some fundamental different viewpoints on how things should be, which led to changes in the FNF. Which then, unfortunately, led to it being put on the back burner for some time. We were very busy with some other ventures and for several months the FreeNation Foundation was not getting the attention it deserved, and frankly, we missed it. So we decided to do something about it.

Thus the relaunch.

Ultimately we wanted to return it to its roots as an open environment, but this time with an entirely new purpose. We decided that the FreeNation Foundation is better suited to being a place where movements from around the world can meet and cooperate on achieving their goals. This isn’t just another movement, folks. This is a movement about all movements, and we sincerely believe it’s needed.

With the way world events are going, more and more people are realizing that something needs to be done, and soon. Governments are infringing on fundamental rights and freedoms, even those countries that were once thought to be beacons of freedom and democracy. Corporations are destroying the environment, and the planet, at a breakneck speed and going unpunished for it. The truth, science and fundamental human rights are being repressed by the conservative and the ignorant. Mainstream media has become corrupt to its core, and is nothing but a corporate and political propaganda machine. We cannot continue down this path that we are heading, things must drastically change if we expect to survive as a species both on this planet and beyond. Humanity has made changes and leaps throughout our history, just as our ancestors all around the world fought for change, now is our time to do something. We sincerely hope people will find the motivation to join together and work toward changing society, and hopefully the world. To many people this may seem overly idealistic and a hopeless endeavour, but unless we try…things cannot change.

We’re really excited about the things that will be happening here at the FreeNation Foundation in the coming months. It is definitely going to get the attention it deserves this time around. So stay tuned.
